Your Fifties, Sixties, Seventies Can Be Decades of Significance

Have you ever felt that your chronic illness makes you invisible, that you are just not seen? Chronic illness can make us feel we have been robbed of our life.

I have noticed that growing older can make us feel invisible also.

It’s like we have reached our expiration date and we are no longer good for much so we are overlooked and ignored.

Yikes! I am not interested in living that way.

I am here to tell you that your fifties, sixties, seventies and beyond can be decades of engagement and significance even as you manage fibromyalgia and chronic illness.
We can celebrate everything our experiences have taught us, spinning straw into gold, embracing post-traumatic growth and forward thinking.

As we age in an active way we can draw on our decades of experience, and learning. We have overcome many challenges and we may have the scars to prove it.

We can get ready for new challenges and discoveries and designing a life that allows us to flourish and be the best version of ourselves that we can be.

This past year I was privileged to work with Sue, who is 79 years young, on better managing her fibromyalgia.

We explored strategies to develop her healthcare team, manage stress, to improve her diet, her sleep, her exercise and her mindset.  She is active and engaged in a purposeful way in her community and determined to feel her best.

I asked her “What would you say to older people who want to feel better?”

Without skipping a beat she replied:

“If you have a plan and you work it daily, you can do it, if you reach out for help. It is too hard to do by yourself.”

Good advice! If you could use some help reclaiming your life and becoming an active ager as you take charge of fibromyalgia and chronic illness please consider scheduling a FREE Breakthrough Session with me.

I can support you as you figure out how to be the best version of you and how your older years can be decades of significance too.
